Cousins

These two gals had fun together this past weekend (when they were actually awake at the same time that is).  We were finally able to snap a few good pictures.  I think it's such a blessing that Brie has all of her cousins in close proximity!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Brie!

Our adorable little munchkin is 6 months old today!  Wow, these past 6 months have gone by so fast!  Though there were days (and sometimes nights) that felt like they might never end, all in all the time has just flown by and I cannot believe that we've had Brie in our lives for 6 months.  I can scarcely remember life without her :)! 
Here's what our 'lil Brie is up to these days:

• Rolling over (back to tummy and tummy to back) like a champ.  She now likes to roll back and forth and back and forth.  She has yet to continually roll in the same direction though...I'm still waiting for that one.
• She looooves talking and smiling at "baby in the mirror".  She thinks this baby is pretty awesome (and we do too!).
• She really, really, really wants to sit up on her own, but isn't quite there just yet.
• She has just started eating her first "real" foods.  She's been doing great with just mommy's milk, but now that she's six months old, it's time to branch out :).  She tried oatmeal and sweet potatoes last night and of course we had to make a home movie (click here if you'd like to see our little eater in action)
• Just last night I heard her first consonant ("da").  She only said it twice, but I can't wait to hear more.  She loooves to talk, but her talking so far has mostly consisted of little screams (as you may have seen in the video), so I'm looking forward to more babbling in the near future.
• She responds to the sign "milk" (she gets very, very excited), but hasn't figured out yet that she can sign it back.
• At our last home weigh in she was 14lbs 14 oz (but I think she's probably up over 15 now)
• She's still just the best little sleeper on the block (averaging 10-11 hours straight/night).  A "bad" night for her is "only" 8 hours.  I hope if she has a sibling some day she can teach her sibling how to sleep this well...because she sure is spoiling us!
• And her biggest feat yet--her first tooth popped through on January 16--just in time for her half birthday!  She's been a little bit of a fussy baby, but for the most part she's done very well and her second tooth is working on making it's appearance soon too!

These past six months have brought us so much joy and we have learned so much as parents already.  We look forward to seeing what the next six months will bring!
