Officially IN my 30's...and only +/- 13 weeks to go till Baby H!

I think turning 31 might have been slightly harder than just turning 30...now I'm IN my 30's...not just 30. Wow. Justin and I took a walk the other night and were talking about how fast the first 30 years went and how in the blink of an eye we'll be 60 and wrinkly. That's crazy! It made us realize we need to make sure and treasure all the moments we have together!

Since spring has sprung (or wait, maybe it's already summer, since it's almost 80-90 here most everyday now)...we have enjoyed an evening walk together each night after dinner. Our neighborhood is just one block, so we just go around a few times and it's not super exciting, but the time together and the great conversations we have I am treasuring...since I'm sure walking with a kid in a stroller will be slightly different than just the two of us :). My favorite part lately is the cute little neighbor boy who is maybe 5-6 years old. For a couple of weeks he would ask, "Whatcha doing?" To which we would reply, "Just taking a walk." To which he would reply, "Ahhhh....". We always chuckled as we walked away. However, the other night it changed to "So, you just taking a walk, huh?" At least he's figured out that's what we're up to :). One night he even followed us around on his little razor and kept telling us to "Wait up for me!". I do wonder what his parents are up to, but at least he is keeping us entertained, and since it's just a one block neighborhood there's not really much traffic or anything.

Anyhow, aside from enjoying my birthday this week (did I mention I ate cake for my birthday for the first time in years??? pregnancy + birthday = bliss!), I also reached 27 weeks preggers--WOW! What is even more wow to me is that Andrea delivered the twins (I think) at 28 weeks...I would SO not be ready for that right now! It's really hard to believe how fast the time is going and that before we know it we'll meet our little bundle of joy! Pretty soon I'll have to figure out how to post a poll...and everyone can place their bets on if it's a boy or a girl. Basically, if you'd like to be a rebel...pick girl. Almost everyone, including our almost 3-year-old niece, Abigail, thinks it's a boy. Wishful thinking? Who knows! I, the one carrying the child, have no idea...so we'll just wait and see!

And finally, here's a lovely 27 week belly picture for you all. I really loved the shirt I had on this morning, so decided it was a good time for a pic :).

Smelling the Roses...

Have I ever mentioned how FABULOUS my hubby is? This is what I received at work today (an early birthday present...he's good at doing things early sometimes to catch me off guard!).

While he often buys me flowers for things, this is the first time he's had them delivered to me by the florist (when we were dating he hand-delivered some to me here at the school)--how FUN! I'm so blessed and lucky to be married to such a great guy!

Nebraska Baby Shower FUN!

You know it's going to be a good baby shower when the baby-mama walks in, sees the setup, and starts bawling because it's so fabulous (yep, that's what happened!). My mom and sister totally outdid themselves and threw me the most amazing shower with my family and friends in/around Nebraska (thanks Dawn and Amanda for coming all the way from MN!). My mom made a supercute diaper cake (it totally blew the couple I've made out of the water!), there were Eileen's cookies (the BEST cookies EVER) at each place setting, a fabulous cake (made by the lady who did our wedding cake, she's incredible!), fun games, adorable decorations and of course wonderful time spent with great friends and family! I was so blessed and humbled by the generosity of everyone...baby H is so lucky and loved already! My sister took over 130 pictures (seriously!), so I tried to pick out just a few to share and when I'm back home on my laptop (which loves blogger more than my parent's laptop) I will post a link to my snapfish album :).

OK--Here goes--hopefully this link will take you to a snapview album of some more baby shower pics :)

What a difference...

...a couple of weeks makes! Everyone kept saying how one day I would feel like I just "popped". Well, I felt like I just really popped out yesterday! So I thought I would mark the occasion with a bump pic and a blog post :). I had to use photobooth at school, so it's not the best background or photo...but it gives you the gist.

All is going well with Baby H--we had a second ultrasound on Tuesday to get the final measurements on the heart (not sure what they measured, something about inflow/outlfow...). After that--the anatomy checks were complete and everything looks great! Yay! And even though I feel like I'm gaining entirely too much weight, my doctor told me yet again "And your weight gain is great". So, I guess everything is just great, great, great :). Justin was able to feel some pretty strong kicks/punches the other night, so that was superfun. He had thought he'd felt a few last week, but they were real light ones. Now Baby H is really getting his/her groove on, and the kicks are much stronger, so Justin had no doubts that he was feeling our little one! It's really hard to believe I'm actually six months pregnant and there's only a few months till we'll meet baby H--WOW!

This weekend should be a fun one, as Justin and I have our last Broadway Across America show for this season to attend, "West Side Story". I know the story and lots of the music, but have never seen this production, so I am really, really excited!!! I have really enjoyed having our season tickets this year, and am sad that this is our last show (however, I'm hoping to get next season's tickets for my birthday, so maybe there are more shows in our future!).
