Happy Anniversary to the BEST Husband In the World!

I just had to post a special Happy Anniversary wish to my awesome hubs. Hard to believe it's been 5 years since we said "I Do". I'm so thankful to get to spend my life with someone so amazing and who just "gets" me.

I can't wait to see what the next 5 years will have in store, I'm sure with Little H on the way, we have no idea what all will come our way :)!

Love you Sweetie!

Babies, Babies, Everywhere!

Lately it seems every day I learn of someone else I know who just had a baby or is pregnant, there really are pregnancy vibes dancing around! (And a plug for my friend Erin here--if you're in the same boat and want a fun "Congrats! You're Pregnant" gift for your friend--buy Erin's new book--The Christian Mama's Guide to Having a Baby --it ROCKS!!!)

For fun, and so some day I can look back and remember this great time in life, I decided to start a list starting from last summer:
Rebecca--small group friend--baby Boy
Karen--friend from college--baby Girl (born on her due date no less!)
Serena--friend from HP church--baby Boy (liked his mommy's tummy and arrived quite late!)
Lauren--friend from HP church--baby Girl born just last week :)
Angie--friend of the family from HS--baby Boy
Sarah--friend from HP church--baby Boy born two days ago :)!!
Lacey--cousin--due in April
Laura--friend from HS--due in April
Jessica--friend from HS--due in April
Jessica--small group friend due in late May
Erin--small group friend due in late May
ME--due July 20th!!
Kate--friend from HS due 2 days after me
Meghan--friend from HS due in late July/early August
Stella--coworker due in August
Amy--cousin due in August
KATHERINE!!!!--my awesome sister-in-law due September 13! Yay for a cousin for baby H!
Anna--small group friend due in October
Andrea--former coworker and my mentor during my first year at TSD due in October

And that list isn't even including the friends of friends I know who just had babies or are pregnant--it's SO crazy--and SO fun!

And, because a post isn't a good one without a picture, I've had some requests for "baby bump" pictures...well, I don't have a great baby bump just yet (though if I have on the right shirt, I can fake it!), but here's the best I can do for now...plus, a fun picture of my new haircut :)

Sweet Sixteen!

My Academic Bowl kids totally blew me out of the water with their heart and tenacity during last week's grueling competition! They made it into the sweet sixteen--out of 78 teams!!! To make it into the sweet sixteen, they had to play 7 straight matches (literally, 7 in a row, with only enough time to run to the new building and maybe go to the bathroom--it was crazy)! Unfortunately, they lost their first game in the sweet sixteen bracket (but it was a close one!), so they did not advance to the final 8. However, I could not be more proud of my amazing students and their efforts! We will have our same team next year, and they will be a force to be reckoned with!!!

Here's a few shots from our fun time in DC (though it looks like we had hours to tour, all our touring happened within only a 2 hour time frame, it was crazy!).

My AMAZING Team--Go Geeks!

In front of the White House, unfortunately it's a little blurry, other people seem to have issues using my camera sometimes :(

Academic Bowl Time Again!!!!

It's that time of year again for my very, very favorite event of the whole year--Academic Bowl Competition!!! This year it's a little different and all 80+ schools from across the nation will converge at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. for a huge four days of competition. We have to place top three in our original 10 team pool to advance, so cross your fingers for us! We have a really well balanced, well "gelled" team this year, so I'm excited to see them rise to this occasion!!
Today was a great test for them, as they competed in our video league's championship match and WON! I was one PROUD coach! We started the tournament 6th seed based on "regular season" play from the fall, and won every single tournament game to get into the championship bracket. It really showed their dedication and drive to improve towards the end---again--very PROUD coach!
So think of us this weekend and send good vibes to D.C.! I'll post next week and let you all know how it went :)!

This year's AWESOME team: Ilan, Maggie, Tozzie, and Darby
