7 Weeks Old...and another lesson learned

I've learned many things in the past 7 weeks...the most recent being don't try to take the weekly photo before bath time...even if she seems not fussy, she will become fussy :).
 Before Bath :)

 And, after bath...ahhhh :)

Brie is growing and changing so much everyday!  It is a joy to watch her begin to take in more of her surroundings, begin to make fun sounds and begin to give us beautiful smiles!  She's still a little peanut, but finally weighs in at almost 8 1/2 pounds :).  My cousin had her baby last week and her baby weighed more at birth than Brie did at 6 weeks old--crazy!  While little chubby babies are adorable of course, it's also fun to enjoy that she is still just so tiny and cuddly :).  Of course you never know exactly what they will be like as they grow older, but for now she's definitely the "tall and skinny" type :).  It's crazy how super long she is.  I think all her energy has gone into growing her longer.

Justin and I are slowly adjusting to the world of parenthood.  Weekends take on a whole new meaning to me--they mean I'm not going to be solo all day--and I LOVE that.  That extra pair of hands to help is just amazing!  It also means I'm almost guaranteed a trip to the gym (which is a rare treat these days) and a shower :)!  Plus, of course, it means daddy and Brie get time together!  This past Sunday Justin and Brie had some good time together while I went to the gym, to church, and ran errands.  While I missed my baby girl (and Justin!), it was really nice to have a little time away to myself.  Though, I decided, church without Justin there beside me is just kind of weird!  We're going to attempt bringing Brie to church this coming Sunday, so wish us luck :).

And finally, we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby girl Long!  Katherine is due in 10 days--and we all can't wait to meet their little one!  It will be so fun for Brie to have a cousin the same age as her :)!

Love the pics... Well, the happy one - for your sake. :) But even grumpy, she's just adorable!
