Our Awesome One-Year-Old

It's so hard to believe that a whole year has come and gone since we welcomed little Brielle into our family.  A lot has happened this past month and while I still like to think of her as my baby (and I'm guessing I may always), she is definitely well on her way into toddler-hood. 
We had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday with two photo shoots (one with grandma & grandpa Long as part of their birthday present and one of mostly Brie with a few family shots done by our amazing photographer friend Michael Samaripa of Inner Light Creations (password for our album is huskers)); three times eating cake (wowzers!); a party; and lots of fun new clothes and toys to enjoy. 

Brie is surely a blessed (and spoiled) little girl! 
Here are a few new happenings and stats about Brie:

• Took her first steps!  She took her first wobbly steps on June 22nd, but just this past week she's really taken off and is walking everywhere!  She's quite proud of herself :)!
• Has 8 teeth with at least 5-6 (maybe more?) on the way...and the last two popped in without me even really noticing that she was teething.  She is such a good teether!
• Weighs in at 19.5lbs (25%)
• Is 29.25 in. tall (60%)
• Still has an itty bitty head just below the 5%
• Is starting to sign more!  She has signed "milk" for a very long time, but recently has added "banana" (and says "nana" when she signs it), "please" (and often says the "pl" sound when she signs it), and "more".  It's pretty cute and I've started signing even more to her now that she's picking up on it.
• Can now get herself up to standing without using an object or person for help...this new trick happened just today!

We are looking forward to the next year and watching Brie continue to learn and grow!  She is going to keep us on our toes...that's for sure!
