Sweet Sixteen!

My Academic Bowl kids totally blew me out of the water with their heart and tenacity during last week's grueling competition! They made it into the sweet sixteen--out of 78 teams!!! To make it into the sweet sixteen, they had to play 7 straight matches (literally, 7 in a row, with only enough time to run to the new building and maybe go to the bathroom--it was crazy)! Unfortunately, they lost their first game in the sweet sixteen bracket (but it was a close one!), so they did not advance to the final 8. However, I could not be more proud of my amazing students and their efforts! We will have our same team next year, and they will be a force to be reckoned with!!!

Here's a few shots from our fun time in DC (though it looks like we had hours to tour, all our touring happened within only a 2 hour time frame, it was crazy!).
